2020-2021 School Year COVID-19 Information

To prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, we have reimagined education to respond to the global pandemic. Our staff has worked together to create our panthers prepare and care plan to respond to how our district will address health, safety, curriculum and instruction, social-emotional learning, and equity while offering both traditional and remote learning options.

Red Ribbon Week

Graham Creek Elementary will participate in our annual Red Ribbon Week from October 26 through 30. Please join in the fun, and show us your school spirit by dressing up.

  • Monday – Don’t Be Caught Sleeping – Say No to Drugs! (Pajama Day) 
  • Tuesday – From Head to Toe, I’m Drug-Free! (Crazy Hair and Sock Day) 
  • Wednesday – Say “Peace Out” to Drugs! (Tie-Dye Day)
  • Thursday – GCE Pledges to be Drug-Free! (GCE apparel)
  • Friday – Say “Boo” to Drugs! (Halloween)

Report Cards

Report cards are being mailed out. There is a second letter concerning proof of residency from the Indiana State Department of Education that we require each family to verify. Please sign the letter and return no later than October 30. Thank you for your help!

Emailed Homework Assignments

When students are out of school for an extended period of time, we will email homework assignments to the student’s email address. Please have your student check their email. Their email address is their first, last name, and last two digits of their graduating year The password will be their lunch number and the last two digits of their graduating year. 

Free Breakfast and Lunch Program

The USDA has approved for all students to receive free breakfasts and lunches. This program will run until December 31, or until we have depleted the funds. This program begins Monday, September 14.

Substitute Teacher Meetings

All persons wishing to work as a substitute teacher during the 2020–2021 school year for Jennings County School Corporation need to attend one of the orientation meetings scheduled at Central office 34 W. Main Street North Vernon, IN 47265. The orientation meetings will be for renewing substitutes and new substitutes. Due to COVID-19, sessions will be limited to a small number of people, and masks are required.
